Stay at Home Resources

Good morning beauties and happy Sunday!!  I wanted to get this post up in time for Monday!  🙂 Now that we are all staying home, I want to share with you a few helpful resources that will hopefully make this time a little less stressful and more enjoyable.

First, this is an obvious and simple one, have a consistent daily schedule.  Wake up at the same time each day, eat meals at the same time, take breaks, get outside each for fresh air and so on.  This is especially important for children.  Prior to staying at home with my little one, I worked as a special education teacher and consistency is so important!!  Here is a great article to reference from Harvard Business Review.

My husband is working from home and we have found that having a seperate room in the house (his own personal working space) works the best for us.  While having an active toddler at home, he has a quiet area where he can take calls and focus.  He likes to use a Bose headset (and here) which is noise cancelling and Bluetooth enabled.  We have also added a few “self-care” elements into our day, for example, he enjoys having fresh flavored water available during the day to drink.  This is simple to do and we fill a beverage dispenser in the morning and add our favorite fruits or herbs.  Another useful item is a “lap desk” (for kids) that you place your computer or tablet on and actually molds to your lap. We also make sure to get in an evening walk each day once my husband is done with work.  This is always such a nice way for us to transition to family time, get fresh air and enjoy time together.

Finally I know many parents are trying to find ways to entertain their children and get some learning in too.  As a teacher and mamma, I LOVE to incorporate learning in with play!  I have added a few learning games and other learning resources for you.
