Celebrating at home

As our lives have changed and most of us are still working and staying home, we need to find creative ways to keep traditions and celebrations going!  Not only will this help to  provide some “normalcy” for us but it will also add a little more fun to our daily routine.

We just recently celebrated our 5 year anniversary of our first date!  We celebrated at home on our rooftop and with the kids!  It was actually really fun as my step son helped prepare to surprise “Tata.”.  While we were getting ready for our anniversary “date” my step son and I reminisced about fun milestones of our lives and he helped put together a picture collage of some extra special memories. Adding a few decorations (balloons with our wedding colors, etc.) and setting a nice tablescape for our dinner on the rooftop (which also had beautiful views of the city and Mt. Rainier), added that extra special touch from our normal family dinner.

My husband took care of ordering takeout from a yummy European restaurant and he even went to the extent of trying to order from the restaurant where we had our first date, (however, the restaurant was closed on Monday’s so we ordered elsewhere, double check restaurant hours as many have changed due to COVID) how sweet!!  (Here is an article to reference that informs you on all the different food apps that are available and the differences between them!)

Even though we were at home this year, we still had a special day celebrating our anniversary.  Here is an article to read that will give you some more creative suggestions on how to celebrate at home and keep family traditions alive.
