Hello everyone and happy October!  Wow, I can’t believe we are already into October, however, I am excited for the new season as I love to add fall touches to the house! The holidays will be upon us soon and here are a few ideas to help you get your house ready to.

Let’s start in the kitchen.  My goal was to work with the color scheme that we already have and add some new fall items.  We have mostly neutral and blue tones in our house so for fall, all I needed to do was add some touches of pumpkin orange.  I found these cute little pumpkins (white, orange and some sparkly orange ones) for each place setting and the place mats are from IKEA (which I already had).  The table runner and glass pumpkin (that lights up) are from TJ Maxx. I wanted to keep things simple with solid napkins, candles (from Amazon) and plates (from Fred Meyers) with having a more detailed pumpkin patterned table runner.

I was also able to find some kitchen towels with little  blue pumpkins, (TJ Maxx), a “fall” in love sign, a throw pillow with neutral tones (including a blue pumpkin) and “you had me at pumpkin spice” sign that all match our houses color scheme perfectly!

Another area that I love to switch up each season is the front door to our home.  It always makes me so happy when I come home to an inviting entrance. I went to our local Trader Joe’s in to buys some “fantasy” pumpkins.  They are the cutest and they also come in a variety of neutral tones! They are also inexpensive and add so much. Again I wanted to bring in some of the blue from our house so I picked up another blue pumpkin from TJ Maxx.  Then I added a few lanterns (with LED candles, Amazon), a mum plant and as the final touch to our front door, a wreath. I had the hardest time finding a wreath that I really liked and that was more minimal for our modern home.  I finally found the perfect fall wreath that has a modern appeal on Etsy.

I added some eucalyptus garland (that can be used for throughout the holidays) to the top of our cabinet with a pumpkin orange candle and a gold holder.  The minimal white planter is from IKEA.

For the rest of the house I kept things simple and placed  little pumpkins here and there to add a “touch” of fall!

XOXO
